Change of Submission System: MMS to NESTOR Key Information

We are pleased to announce that in response to the changing landscape of academic publishing, Mechanics & Industry has migrated submission systems from MMS to NESTOR (New Editorial System Tool for Research)—a platform designed and developed by EDP Sciences.
Mechanics & Industry – the official journal of the Association Française de Mécanique - is a leading international resource in Mechanical Sciences and Engineering Applications. The journal transitioned to full open access in 2020 in order to improve the facilitation of exchanges between researchers and industry and highlight collaborative projects. The journal team are confident that the move to NESTOR will continue to provide a positive author experience and support these exchanges while maintaining the highest levels of academic rigour.
NESTOR offers an enhanced user experience, with advanced features, improved security, and an intuitive user interface tailored for authors, referees, and editors. This bespoke functionality, built with EDP’s own research community in mind, aims to improve the user experience from submission to publication.
The new, more streamlined, system will also improve efficiency and quality of the peer review process, helping to further build the journal’s reputation as a go-to reference in the Mechanical Sciences and Engineering Applications discipline.

As part of this migration, all existing data—including registered users, manuscripts, and associated data—has been securely transferred to the new system.
