Global CDEM algorithm, from [12]. With Ts,j:, αs,t,j:, nj, global variables, respectively slack tension, angle between a chain strand and the closest link with both rollers contacting spocket j (with j = I, II for chainring and rear cog) and contact number of rollers Ti, Pi, sc,r,i, κi, νi local variables, respectively link tension, roller contact force, curvilinear abscissa of roller, angle between the direction of the preceding link and the local x axis and the angle between the direction of the following link and the local x axis et k drive sub-position for efficiency calculation.
